'Three coffees'

It took three coffees today.
Some days it only takes one.
But today it took three.
Just enough to see me through the nappies we changed at 5am and the bedsheets we changed at 6.
Just enough to encourage me to wash my hair, and sing that song you like, and find that toy, and make our lunch.
One coffee might have been fine, but would we have left the house at all? Maybe two would have done? But would you have laughed as much or found me as fun?

It took three coffees today and that’s okay.
